Netscape
  • press Ctrl key and press + (enlarge) or - (decrease) key

    or:

  • on tool bar, Click on: View
  • Click on: Text Size
  • Click on: percentage of original size desired

    Internet Explorer
  • Click on: View on the tool bar
  • Click on: Text Size
  • select size

    If this does not work or only works for one column, do the following. However, any change at this level will change the way that your ALL the pages will shown - therefore, make a note of any changes you make (see warning below):

  • Click on: Tools
  • Click on: Internet options
  • Click on: Accessibility Note: Do not forget this setting if you decide to reverse what you have done.
  • Click on: Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages (inserts a check)
  • Click on: OK (accessibility window) and OK (internet options window)

    It is now possible to change font size from View (as above)

  • on the tool bar, Click on: View
  • Click on: Text Size
  • select size

    WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS UNLESS you know what you are doing or are willing to fiddle around with it alot to find out. Always be sure that you have written down the initial settings before you change something so you can go back and undo whatever you did. Several of the settings will override and invalidate the page color change switch at the beginning of this page and on other pages. However, to test out different fonts, colors of fonts on different backgrounds, etc. may be beneficial.
    NETSCAPE to change text color or color of links: (for IE, see below)
  • on the tool bar, Click on: Edit
  • Click on: Preferences
  • Click on: + or triangle depending on browser version
  • Click on: Color
  • Click on: Use system colors to remove check
  • Click on: text square color swatch and choose color
  • Click on: (to change background) background square color swatch and choose color
  • Click on: Use my chosen colors

    to change back:

  • Click on: Use system colors to put check
  • click on Always use the colors and background...
    If font size or colors do not change, click on reload page
    INTERNET EXPLORER (IE)

    to change text color or color of links

  • on tool bar, Click on Tools
  • Click on Internet Options
  • Click on Colors
  • Click on Use Windows Colors to remove check
  • Click on Text color swatch given
  • choose color
  • Click on Background color swatch given
  • choose color
  • Click on OK for Colors window
  • Click on Accessibility
  • Click on Ignore colors specified on Web pages
  • Click on OK

    to change back:

  • follow instructions above but in each case reverse your decision
    If font size or colors do not change, click on Refresh on tool bar
